Amongst Polls and Whinging

If I had to choose one thing I’ve been absolutely horrible about lately (and if I only had to choose one), it would have to be blogging. I can give the classic “I’ve been traveling” excuse. I’m sure I could also think of a thousand or a million reasons why I haven’t updated Positively Gabriella in… a week and a half now? It’s not as though I haven’t been reading books or trying out new recipes – I’ve just felt like I’m in a bit of a funk.

The only way to get out of a funk, as they say, is to simply write. I started this blog originally to have a place to post my writings, whether it be fictional pieces, recipes or book reviews. Today, it remains mostly that. I don’t write as much fiction to my dismay. And in this whole “having a job” routine is exhausting. What time is there to be creative and write when you’re running a business and working as an intern? None.
But I’m not here to whinge. I’m here to write.
This isn’t meant to be some kind of start into a new way of blogging, but at the very least – one post may be enough to get me back on track. I’ve finished two books over the last two weeks: The City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett and A Long Way To A Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. They were both incredible! It’s been some time since I’ve had two fantasy/science fiction style books that I’ve enjoyed at much. Reading-wise: I’m now caught in the middle of a many pronged debate.
Choices? Help? I demand only a little feedback from my readers from time to time. In the meantime, I’ll try to not fall too far before on writing posts for Bad Yogi Magazine (Here’s my most recent one on the Facebook app), and keeping up writing for Sub-Stances. Whew. I do so love my life in the Hague. Not that I didn’t adore Berlin, but here – here I feel like I’m being challenged to keep up with all the incredible opportunities. And that’s maybe the best feeling.
