It is cold in Berlin.

Fish Soup at Yam Yam

It is, as I said above, cold (really cold) in Berlin. Somehow, it has already hit 35/45 Fahrenheit temperatures, and it’s barely November! I can hardly believe it and I am in no way prepared for the wintertime! (i.e. did not bring a warm enough jacket) Otherwise, most of my week has been filled with writing my Nanowrimo, although I’ve been particularly lazy this weekend and am probably behind… Although my plot is really coming along and I feel fairly good about most parts of the story (which is more than I can say for last years…) On the other hand, I’ve gotten to eat some incredible food this week and finally saw the movie Inside Out (which was TOO good). I visited this great little Korean cafe in Berlin called YamYam – and it was delicious! Basically, if anyone comes to Berlin we will be going there. I had a spicy fish soup and it was probably the most delicious winter dish I could have imagined.

The Falafel Bowl

I also went to this other restaurant that I’ve been meaning to visit since before even arriving in Berlin called: The Bowl. It’s this fantastic healthy vegan restaurant that serves all it’s food in (surprise, surprise) bowls. I opted for the Falafel Bowl (with Falafel, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Hummus, Sprouts, the works!). I was unsurprised because it was so SO good.

Another thing I did this week: Set up a Book Club (Check it out!)

What else?

The Breakfast Market
The Breakfast Market

I finally got to go to the Breakfast Market in Berlin, and to spoil it – the market was absolutely amazing. I loved that it wasn’t just a classic European style breakfast on offer. For some reason, there was alcohol? But even better – they had Japanese style waffle sandwiches, Italian style fish breakfasts, eggs Benedict, Turkish mezze platters, coffee, tea, juices… I mean – there was something for everyone (not to mention – I was able to meet up with an old friend at the Market so it was a fairly perfect morning!).

Another Breakfast Market stall!

I came back from Berlin last Saturday, it was certainly getting a little breezy, it was a wonderful city though, shame i missed out on the Breakfast market though.

Alas, you’ll have to come back and try it another time though it is really chilly
